Several years ago (when I didn't know much about baking), I encountered a dark time in my personal life that shattered my heart - I felt life had dealt me a bag of sour lemons. I began shutting out people that I cared for and became isolated. I didn't like how this isolation impacted me and my loved ones, so I decided to pull myself from this dark place and re-channeled my energy into baking! Well, to be honest, it was more like burning - I couldn’t get this baking thing down.
I became laser-focused on getting this right, because it was the very thing that would set the path for my healing journey. After many attempts at getting a simple chocolate chip cookie recipe right, I accomplished it! I was so proud at that moment!
Talk about turning 'lemons into lemonade'! With all the practicing, mistakes, and learnings, I've developed a lasting passion and discipline that's allowed me to create satisfying desserts that leave you with a memorable aftertaste.
